The 25-year-old is expected to link up with Sean Dyche's Premier League newcomers on their pre-season training camp in Austria.
Jutkiewicz was also wanted by Wigan, Derby and Bolton, where he spent a four-month loan spell last season.
He is Burnley's sixth signing of the summer, alongside Steven Reid , Michael Kightly , Matt Gilks , Marvin Sordell and Matt Taylor .

Jutkiewicz started his career at Swindon and joined Everton, aged 18, in a £1m switch in 2007.
He made only one appearance for the Toffees before moving to Coventry in 2010 for an undisclosed fee, then Boro two years later for £1.3m. He scored 11 goals in 64 appearances at the Riverside.
